The Rotary 43 Reader Program
The Rotary 43 Reader program
The Rotary 43 Reader program was started in 2001 at Irving Elementary School in Pueblo. In 2006, the program was expanded to Columbine Elementary School also in Pueblo. Interested Rotary 43 members or reader teams commit to read to a specific class two to four times per month throughout the school year. The program provides an opportunity for Rotarians to share their life and career experiences with students and to provide positive role models for the students. Readers can borrow books from the classroom or school library and other books are provided through the Rotary 43 "Adopt a School" program. Rotarians are encouraged to be creative and to make the program fun. Students and Rotarians alike really enjoy the program.
